Only whole organic grains and pure spring water are fed to the birds: no protein supplements, added poultry or fish bi-products, no pesticides and herbicides. Additionally no antibiotics, no growth hormones, no arsenicals and no artificial light are permitted at any time.The result is a poultry with great flavor, tenderness and a 25% lower fat content than standard commercially raised chicken. Adherence to these principles led to the first approval by the USDA for «free range»labeling. It also led to «Organic Certification» in 1990 by the Northeast Organic Farmer’s Association. To ensure availability, turkey orders must be placed 7 days prior to desired shipping date.
